Hong Kong Jin Tian Eating House

Today I was at Seng Poh Road to check out this Roast Duck and Roast Pork stall called Hong Kong Jin Tian Eating House. I ordered a plate of Roast Duck and Roast Pork Rice for S$4.00. The Roast Duck is fragrant but I find that the skin is not crispy enough and a little salty due to the spices. The Roast Pork is very also fragrant and tasty but like the roast duck, the skin is not crispy enough. Overall, I find that the Roast Pork tastes better than the Roast Duck. You can try the Roast Pork instead of the Roast Duck if you are checking out the stall.

Lor Mee 178

I was at Tiong Bahru Food Centre for lunch today. I decided to check out this Lor Mee stall called Lor Mee 178. This stall is one of the popular stalls with awards in the food centre. I ordered a Lor Mee with Deep Fried Shark Nuggets which cost S$3.00. The Lor Mee is tasty and the fried crumps sprinkled on the top of the Lor Mee is very crispy and tasty. The Fried Shark Nuggets are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fish taste fresh and does not have a fishy taste. You can find ingredients like lor bak, ngoh hiang, fishcake and bean sprouts. However, I find that the gravy is a not thick and tasty enough. Otherwise, it would have been perfect. Overall, I find the crispy crumps and fried shark nuggets are delicious and you can give it a try if you want to check out how fried shark nuggets taste.

Tiong Bahru Lor Mee

I was at Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre for lunch. I decided to check out the Tiong Bahru Lor Mee again after so many years since they moved back to the renovated Market and Food Centre. There was a queue at the stall and I joined in the queue to order a large bowl of Lor Mee for S$3.00. The Lor Mee is tasty and the texture of the gravy is sticky and gluey but I find the gravy a little bit salty. The Lor Mee consists of ingredients like fried wantan, fried fish fillet, sliced stewed pork, fishcake and beansprouts. The fried fish is fresh but I find it a little salty. Frankly speaking, I find the Lor Mee very tasty at first but somehow the goodness does not last and there's nothing very unique about it. It's still worth a try if you happen to be around the area.

Min Nan Pork Rib Prawn Noodle

I was at Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre for dinner today. I decided to order from my favourite Prawn Mee stall called Min Nan Pork Rib Prawn Noodle. This stall might be familiar for some of you, they were shown on the variety show on Channel 8 called Buzzing Cashier. As usual, I ordered my favourite Pork Rib Kway Teow Dry with Chilli. The pork rib is nice and tender, even the fat melts in your mouth. The lard and chilli makes the kway teow taste extremely delicious. Not forgetting the fried spring onions, bean sprouts and kang kong that added more variety of texture to the this dish. This is one stall not to be missed if you happen to be around the vicinity.

Tian Tian Yuan Dessert House

If you are looking for desserts after a meal at Tiong Bahru Market, you must definitely try the Cheng Tng at this stall called Tian Tian Yuan Dessert House. I ordered a bowl of Cold Cheng Tng from this stall after a meal on a hot sunny day. The Cheng Tng was not too sweet but was just nice. There is a generous serving of ingredients like the green beans, red beans, barley, persimmon, longan meat and ginko nut. Something unique about this stall is that they add waterchestnut to the dessert, giving it a crunchy texture with every other mouthful. The Cheng Tng is simply refreshing especially on a hot sunny day. You must definitely try it for yourself to believe.

Tiong Bahru Fried Kway Teow

The Tiong Bahru Market located at Seng Poh Road is a food paradise for foodies out there. There are many famous stalls  like the Lor Mee, Roast Duck Rice, Tiong Bahru Bao that are very popular. I was there for lunch and decided to order a plate of Fried Kway Teow that cost S$3.00. The Fried Kway Teow is tasty and they added alot of garlic making the Kway Teow very fragrant. However, you will feel that the garlic is a little overwhelming after a while. The Kway Teow consists of ingredients like cockles, fish cake, chinese sausages, eggs and bean sprouts. Overall the taste is above average but it's definitely one of the better ones.

Teochew Fishball Noodle Dry/Soup

I was at Tiong Bahru Market looking for good food to recommend. I remember this stall that sells very good Fishball Noodle call Teochew Fishball Noodle Dry/Soup. I ordered a bowl of You Mee Dry with lots of chilli sauce. There are ingredients like fish cake, fish dumpling and fishballs. The fishballs are succulent and very fresh, it does not have a fishy smell and it is not too salty. The secret of its good taste lies in their chilli sauce and vinegar, it makes the fishball noodles complete. If you happen to be at Tiong Bahru Market, do check out this stall.
